The Chopin Centre in Szafarnia is open in the summer season

Mondays: closed
Tuesday – Friday: 8.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m.,
Saturday – Sunday: 12.00 – 6 p.m..

and in the autumn/winter season:

Mondays: closed
Tuesday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday: 12.00 – 4 p.m.

It is possible to visit the Centre on Mondays too, provided everything is arranged in advance.

Ticket to access the museum room and the Centre:

- in case of bigger groups the ticket prices are negotiable.

A guided tour of the Centre - 20 PLN.

How to get here

By car:

from Warsaw – route No. 7 in the direction of Płońsk, next route No. 10 heading for Sierpc, then route No. 560 via Rypin, where you change for route No. 534 – via Ostrowite and Radomin. 6 km before Golub Dobrzyń turn right after “Szafarnia” sign. Total time around 2h50mins.
Form Toruń – one option: take route No. 15 via Kowalewo Pomorskie , then change for route No. 554 in the direction of Golub Dobrzyń, where you change for route No. 534 for Rypin. 6 km behind Golub Dobrzyń turn left after “Szafarnia” sign. Other option (more picturesque) - take route No. 10 for Lubicz Górny, next turn left in Dobrzejewice into route No. 569 for Golub Dobrzyń, via Ciechocin, Elgiszewo. Once in Golub Dobrzyń go past the castle and head for Rypin into route No. 534. 6 km behind Golub Dobrzyń turn left after “Szafarnia” sign. Total time around 50mns.
From Bydgoszcz – one option: take route No. 80 via Zła Wieś Wielka in the direction of Toruń. Next – see above. Other option: take route No. 10 (ring road), below Solec Kujawski via Cierpice, Przyłubie in the direction of Złotoryja over motorway bridge. Next via Lubicz, in Dobrzejewice turn left into route No. 569 for Golub Dobrzyń via Ciechocin, Elgiszewo. Once in Golub Dobrzyń, go past the castle and go for Rypin along route No. 534. 6 km behind Golub Dobrzyń turn left after “Szafarnia” sign.

Public transport:

The best option is to get to Toruń by train (get off at the station – Dworzec Miasto). You can easily get there to the bus station, from which you can take the bus which will take you directly to Szafarnia (ticket to Szafarnia village).
