Ladies and Gentlemen,

below we publish the rules and the application form for the 30th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth in Szafarnia.

The competition will be held on 24-28 May 2023. The jury will be chaired by prof. Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń. The remaining names of the jurors will be made public by December 31, 2022.

The inaugural concert will take place on May 24, 2023 at the Jordanki Cultural and Congress Centre in Toruń (aleja Solidarności 1-3, 87-100 Toruń). Piotr Pawlak will be accompanied by the Toruń Symphony Orchestra.  Piotr Pawlak is the  laureate of many international piano competitions, including the 5th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition Maj Lind in Helsinki and the 11th International Chopin Piano Competition in Darmstadt. He is also the laurate the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition  for Children and Youth in Szafarnia, where he won the first prize four times in all age categories. He took part in the XVII (2015) and XVIII (2021) International Fryderyk Chopin Competition in Warsaw. The program included the Piano Concerto in E minor, Op. 11 by Fryderyk Chopin. In the second part of the concert, the orchestra will perform Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46 and Peer Gynt Suite No. 2, Op. 55 by Edvard Grieg. Dainius Pavilionis will conduct.

The deadline for submitting applications is March 14, 2023. The list of participants will be published on April 4, 2023.
