Yiming Sun was born on August 26, 2006, is currently a student of prof. Wojciech Świtała at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. In January 2020, she received the I prize at the Young Livorno International Piano Competition, II prize at the 20th International Piano Competition Juliusz Zarębski in Warsaw, I prize in the 3rd age group in the 28th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth in Szafarnia, Prize of the György Ferenczy Foundation in Budapest for the best performance of a Fryderyk Chopin’s mazurka and Prize of the Director of the Chopin Centre in Szafarnia.
