STEPHANIE YUEYOU LIU

Born in 2015, 9-year-old Stephanie Yueyou Liu is currently a student at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Vancouver. She began her piano lessons at the age of four under the guidance of Ms. Cindy Liu and Dr. Sun Sung Kong at KL Piano Academy. Since embarking on her musical journey, Stephanie has achieved numerous accolades, excelling in local, national, and international music competitions.

Stephanie’s notable musical achievements include:
• Finalist at the 31st International Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth, Szafarnia, Poland (2024)
• First Place in the 65th Canadian Music Competition (2023) in the 7-Year-Old Category, as well as the Outstanding Player Scholarship by Judges’ Nomination Awards
• First Place in the 8-Year-Old Piano Category at the Vancouver International Music Festival (2024)
• First Prize in all three performance categories at the Kiwanis Festival, with nominations for the Provincial Festival and the VKMF 2024 Awards
• Silver Award at the Vancouver International Music Competition (2023)
• First Place at the Crescendo International Music Competition (2022)
• First Place in the 6–8 Age Group at the Pacific Youth Music Festival (2022)
• Gold Prize at the Liszt Hungary International Music Competition (2021)
• Canadian Young Artist Standards of Excellence Award (2021)

In March 2024 and 2025, Stephanie was honored to be invited to perform at the Inaugural Chopin Marathon, organized by the Vancouver Chopin Society and the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Vancouver, celebrating the birthday of Frederic Chopin. In June 2024, she made her debut performance with the West Coast Symphony Orchestra, playing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1. Later that year, in the fall, Stephanie hosted her first charity duo piano concert to benefit the Canadian Cancer Society and Covenant House in Vancouver, raising a total of $3,500. Additionally, starting in September 2024, Stephanie performs as the pianist at her school’s weekly assemblies, playing the national anthem and school song.

Beyond her accomplishments as a pianist, Stephanie is a member of the MSM Trio and has recently taken up the violin. With a wide range of interests, including figure skating, chess, badminton, composing, science, and singing in choir, Stephanie’s exceptional musical talent is matched by her dedication to artistic growth, and she continues to strive for higher levels of excellence in all her endeavors.
