KAI ZAVISLAK

Kai is 10 years old and lives in the Bay Area of the United States. He started learning piano at four and is studying with Dr. Xing Chen. He has also taken lessons from Dr. Steven Spooner, Mrs. Nagisa Ariza, and Mrs. Lena Grozman. He aspires to master challenging pieces, especially Chopin’s „Polonaise in A-flat Major, Op.53” which is his grandmother’s favorite and popular in her hometown in Poland. Recently he won First Prize from Bach International Music Competition, Elevato Stanza Junior Piano Competition, and Great Composers Competition – Best Mozart Performance, awards from International New Star Competition and KAMSA, and was invited to perform for the upcoming Junior Bach Festival. Last year he passed RCM level 8 piano with Distinction and RCM level 5 voice with Honours. He also won Chopinist of the Season, Prodigy Gold Prize, Waltz Gold Prize, and Nocturne Gold Prize from Colors of Chopin International Piano Competition, First Place from King’s Peak International Music Competition, Piano Competition Online (along with Extraordinary Talent Award), and Great Composers Competition – Best Beethoven Performance. In 2023 he won Young Prodigy in the US International Open Music Competition and received medals in the US Open Music Competition. He also cherished the experience of playing with other musicians, e.g. playing Kinder Trio by Klengel with a cellist and a violinist from Juilliard. In addition to piano, Kai enjoys and studies other performing arts such as voice, ballet, and drama, as well as arts, STEM, and programming.
