DANITA ZHANG

Born in 2009 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Danita Zhang began studying piano at the age of 9. She received many first-place prizes, scholarships, and trophies during her first and second years of piano studies at the Winnipeg Music Festival and the AMAF. In 2020, she moved to Toronto and was accepted as a scholarship student at the Phil and Eli Taylor Academy at the age of 12. She is currently studying under the guidance of Professor Langning Liu. Danita has received numerous awards from Ontario, Quebec, and international competitions, such as the OMNI second-place award, first-place prizes in the OMFA competition, several first-place prizes and awards in the NYMF competition, finalist in the Oakville Concerto competition, and semi-finalist in the Rosalyn Tureck International Bach Competition. Danita has attended masterclasses with many distinguished musicians, including James Anagnoson, Anton Nel, JJ Jun Li Bui, and Alan Hobbins. She made her debut with the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra, performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2.
