Zbigniew Raubo

Laureate of the F. Busoni Competition in Bolzano (1991), the F. Liszt Competition in Utrecht (1992) – so far he is the only Polish laureate of this prestigious competition – and the K. Szymanowski Competition in Lodz (1987). He graduated with honors from the Katowice Academy of Music in the class of Prof. Andrzej Jasinski, from whom he later became an assistant. He currently works as a professor at his alma mater. In June 2013, he was awarded the title of Professor of Musical Arts by the President of Poland. He holds the title of Ambassador of the City of Kalisz. He has given concerts in all philharmonics in the country. He has performed with the most eminent Polish conductors such as Jerzy Maksymiuk, Antoni Wit, Agnieszka Duczmal, Jerzy Salwarowski, Mirosław J. Błaszczyk, Marek Pijarowski, Tomasz Bugaj, Jerzy Swoboda, Krzysztof Missona, Łukasz Borowicz, Marek Moś, Czesław Grabowski, Renard Czajkowski. His repertoire includes more than 30 works for piano with orchestra . Among his realized artistic achievements are a recital performance at the Vancouver Chopin Festival, the „Poolse Meesters” Festival in Belgium, as well as master classes and a concert at the Campos do Jordao Festival in Brazil. He has made a number of recordings for domestic and foreign record companies, including the Japanese subsidiaries of Deutsche Gramophon and RCA, International Music Corporation, DUX and Żuk Records. He is also fond of chamber music, and has performed with the Silesian, Wilanów and Camerata Quartets, as well as with Bartłomiej Nizioł, Urszula Kryger, Elżbieta Mrożek-Loska, Piotr Janosik, among others. He is an active pedagogue, besides his full-time job at the Academy of Music in Katowice, he meets with young pianists at numerous courses, and also contributes by consulting music education at lower levels. He has participated in the juries of national and international competitions, including the National F. Chopin Competition in Warsaw, the Chopin Competition in Asia in Japan and the Yamaha Foundation Scholarship Competition. He was also invited to participate in the Jury of the 11th I. J. Paderewski International Competition in Bydgoszcz. Among his alumni, one can find winners of music competitions-Liszt in Wroclaw, Liszt in Parma, the International F. Chopin Competition for Children and Youth in Szafarnia, the National Chopin Competition in Warsaw, the Polish Piano Festival in Slupsk and others. Recently, his student and current assistant Tymoteusz Bies became the winner of the first edition of the K. Szymanowski International Competition in Katowice.

Magdalena Kling-Fender

She performs nationally and internationally and specializes in chamber music. She is affiliated with the Academy of Music in Lodz as an assistant professor in the Department of String Instruments, with a postdoctoral degree in art. She graduated from the Łódź academy with honors in 1999 in the class of Professor Iwona Wojciechowska. She honed her skills at music courses in Łańcut, Żagań and Głuchołazy. She has laurels in regional, national and international competitions in which she participated as a student and pupil. Among the most important honors are: Third place in the National Violin Audition in Elblag (1993), honorable mention in the Stanislaw Serwaczynski National Violin Competition in Lublin(1993), prize from the Lodz Music Society in the Karol Szymanowski International Violin Competition (1997), and honorable mention at the Kiejstut Bacewicz International Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition in Lodz in the piano trios category(1998). The violinist has performed at music and scientific sessions organized by the Academy of Music in Lodz, including, among others, the Musica Moderna contemporary music session. She cooperated with the sextet „Studio”, founded by professors of the Lodz Academy of Music. She recorded for Polish Radio and Television, and took part in the recording of Wojciech Lemański’s film music for Piotr Trzaskalski’s pictures „Edi”(2002) and „Master”(2005). The artist made herself known to listeners of several Polish festivals. Regular attendees of the International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music in Wolsztyn will remember her (she took part in the tenth anniversary edition of this event in 2005) and the Nałęczów Cultural Spring (2006). She also performed during the XXIII Chopin Confrontations at the Radziwill Palace in Antonin in a concert of compositions by Olga Hans and Monika Kedziora. For many years Magdalena Kling – Fender together with her husband Robert Fender have formed the Trio Vivo, which has been performing since 1997. In 2011, the group’s debut album with works by Brahms and Arensky was released on the DUX label. Subsequently, the violinist recorded Pavel Klecki’s Piano Trio with Robert Fender, as well as sonatas for violin and cello by Kodály and Ravel. The most important album released on the DUX label to date is one recorded with violist Elzbieta Mrożek – Loska and featuring J. S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations in a version for string trio. In 2019, the album won the Silver Medal in the prestigious International Record Competition Global Musical Awards in the US. It also made the chapter’s TOP 10 Autumn 2019 list. Their most recent joint albums are „Alexander Tansman Chamber Music,” released in 2019 on the Ars Sonora label, and „Consequences,” recorded in 2021. On the latest album, Magdalena Kling-Fender performed alongside the excellent saxophonist Bartlomiej Dusia. Currently, in addition to the aforementioned musicians, the artist also collaborates with pianists Zbigniew Raubo and Hanna Holeksa. Since 2022, she has also been the artistic director of the MELOS International Music Festival.

Adam Mokrus

Violinist, chamber musician, pedagogue and conductor. He graduated with excellent grades from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, in the violin class of Prof. Paweł Puczek and Prof. Beata Warykiewicz-Siwa in 1997-2002. He honed his violin skills during his post-graduate studies under Prof. Piotr Pławner, as well as in master classes in interpretation conducted by Prof. Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Prof. Stefan Kamasa and Prof. Roman Jablonski in Gdansk, where he received a special prize for the best participant. As part of his extensive solo and chamber music activities, he has performed many times at home and abroad (China, Belgium, France, Holland, South Korea, Lithuania, Germany, Ukraine and Italy); as a soloist, he has performed with symphony orchestras such as: Czestochowa Philharmonic, Rybnik Philharmonic, Silesian Philharmonic, Zabrze Philharmonic, as well as with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot and Tarnów Chamber Orchestra. Among his most important artistic experiences are concerts as a soloist with Konstanty Andrzej Kulka (Czestochowa, Gdansk, Rybnik). In addition, in 2003-2009 he was concertmaster of the Częstochowa Philharmonic symphony orchestra. In addition to his artistic activity, he is engaged in pedagogical activity, employed as an assistant professor at the Katowice Academy of Music, as well as a certified teacher in music schools of the first and second degree in Rybnik and Katowice. He has repeatedly conducted workshops as part of master interpretation courses (Bałoszyce, Krzyżowa, Kudowa Zdrój, Nowy Sącz, Wadowice) and participated in the jury of national violin competitions (Poznań, Rybnik, Zielona Góra).In 2013 he was awarded the badge of Merit for Polish Culture by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. In addition, he is also active as a conductor – in 2018 he graduated from his alma mater’s Faculty of Composition, Interpretation, Education and Jazz, in the class of symphonic and opera conducting of Professor Miroslaw Jacek Blaszczyk. During the period of his studies, he conducted the symphony orchestra of the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice, and as an assistant conductor participated in the performance of the opera „The Magic Flute” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart realized at the Music Academy in Katowice. In 2019, he cooperated with the Silesian Opera in Bytom during the premieres of the operas „Flis” (musical direction) and „Verbum nobile” (musical cooperation) by Stanislaw Moniuszko. In 2020, at the Krakow Opera, he participated in the preparation of the premiere of Jacques Offenbach’s operetta „Orpheus in Hell” (musical cooperation), and also conducted performances of Giacomo Puccini’s „Tosca.”

Elżbieta Mrożek-Loska

Graduate of the Katowice Academy of Music in the viola class of Prof. Zygmunt Jochemczyk. She is a laureate of music competitions (Poznań, Aix-en-Provence, Val Tidone). She was one of the recipients of scholarships from the National Fund for Children and the Minister of Culture. She participated in music interpretation courses under the guidance of outstanding pedagogues: Zygmunt Jochemczyk, Stefan Kamasa, Paul de Clerck, Kurt Levin, Grigor Zhyslin. In 1998 -2004 she was a member of the Aukso Chamber Orchestra, with which she performed at home and abroad (Switzerland, Brazil, Spain, England, Germany, the Netherlands), playing with many outstanding musicians. Employed at her alma mater since 2002 as an assistant to Prof. Zygmunt Jochemczyk. In 2008 she received her doctoral degree, and in 2016 she was awarded a postdoctoral degree. Since 2020, she has been working as a professor. She has performed many times with the Orchestra of New Music and the Silesian Quartet, and has also been invited to various chamber music projects performing in prestigious concert halls, i.e. the NOSPR in Katowice, the NFM in Wrocław or the National Philharmonic Hall, etc. From her collaboration with Piotr Pławner (Plawner Quintet: Piotr Pławner – violin, Sibylla Leuenberger – violin, Elżbieta Mrozek-Loska – viola, Isabella Klim – cello, Piotr Sałajczyk – piano), a CD with String Quartets by Stanisław Moniuszko and Quintet by Juliusz Zarębski was released at CPO in 2019. In 2018, a CD was released from a collaboration with Magdalena Kling-Fender and Robert Fender with a transcription of Goldberg Variations for string trio, which was selected for Top Albums by Global Music Awards Winners in the US in 2019. She has performed in India leading the viola section of the Symphony Orchestra of India, as well as a chamber music concert with Dmitry Sitkovetsky, among others. She collaborates with pianist Zbigniew Raubo, with whom she made recordings of Franck and Brahms sonatas. She was a member of the Lasoń Ensemble (composed of: Krzysztof Lasoń, Agnieszka Lasoń – violin, Elżbieta Mrożek-Loska – viola, Stanisław Lasoń – cello and Piotr Sałajczyk – piano), an ensemble with which she performed at festivals including Kyiv, Lviv, Beijing, Ankara, Istanbul, Warsaw Contemporary Music Festivals and the Polish Piano Festival in Slupsk. The ensemble has made recordings with the Polish Piano Quintets (nominated for the 2013 Fryderyk Award), as well as music by Pawel Hendrich, Justyna Kowalska-Lasoń, Stanislaw Bromboszcz and for films: Clichés of Memory, Agatha’s Lesson, My Pole. Since 2016, she has organized annual Viola Conferences at the Academy of Music in Katowice. She participated as a lecturer: in the Beskidy Music Interpretation Workshop in Rycerka Górna, the Music Interpretation Course organized by the Polish Viola Society, the Viola Forum in Poznań and the Music Course in Bałoszyce. She has participated in jury work at the Macroregional Auditions of Violin and Viola Classes of the 1st and 2nd degree and competitions for viola players of Music Schools and students of Music Academies, as well as the Jan Rakowski National Competition in Poznań. Her alumni have won prizes at National and International Music Competitions.

Robert Fender

He performs as a soloist and chamber musician, and is affiliated with the Academy of Music in Lodz as an assistant professor in the Department of String Instruments. As of 2019, he holds a postdoctoral degree. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Lodz under Prof. Stanislaw Firlej with honors in 1999. He honed his skills at national and international performance courses under the guidance of distinguished pedagogues: Zara Nelsova , Natalia Szachowska, Milos Sadlo, Gerhard Mantel, Karine Georgian, Angelica May. He holds many awards, including 3rd prize at the Dezyderiusz Danczowski National Cello Competition in Poznań (1997), honorable mention at the Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition in Łódź (1998), and a special award from SPAM at the 3rd A. Tansman International Competition of Musical Individuals in Łódź (2002). In 1998-1999 he received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art. Robert Fender has performed as a soloist with the Lodz Philharmonic Orchestra, Concerto Avenna , Bielska Orkiestra Kameralna and the Lodz Chamber Orchestra „Polish Camerata”. He has participated in festivals and music sessions at home and abroad. The artist has made recordings for Polish Radio in Warsaw, Radio Lodz and Polish Television. Since 1997 he has been a member of the piano trio TRIO VIVO. In 2011, the group’s debut album with works by Brahms and Arensky was released by the DUX label. The next two discs in his oeuvre include Pavel Klecki’s Trio and sonatas for violin and cello by Kodály and Ravel. His most notable phonographic achievement to date is an album recorded with violist Elzbieta Mrożek – Loska, which features J. S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations in a version for string trio.
